Welcome to H2earthlabs

The H2earth Institute would like to welcome you to your new Virtual Laboratory. Our objective is to provide you with as many of the latest Web 2.0 collaboration tools as possible, to accelerate the development of practical, deployable waterfuel technology.

Introduction

This H2earthlabs site is your virtual space on the Internet to share your research results with other waterfuel investigators around the world. You can create pages in this place. Although Netcipia is based on a wiki, it also features a blog that enables you to easily publish daily or weekly information about your Research.

These Virtual Labspaces ("vLabs") compliment our Realtime Collaboration Utility on Skype and are supported by a common spreadsheet on Google, which serves as the Central Data Repository for our Associates' ongoing experimental efforts around the world.

H2earthlabs is yours, secure and confidential. Use it as you please and share as much as you can as rapidly as possible. The Institute believes that all of the fundamental work to bring about the 'Waterfuel Revolution' has already been done for us by Stan Meyer, Yull Brown, and others. Making it practical for mass market applications by the general public is more a question of knowledge engineering at this point, than of electrical engineering. The answers all exist somewhere, and each new test that you perform adds another piece of the puzzel. Our mission is to help you put all the pieces together…

Listserv is Active

H2earthlabs now has a moderated listserv exclusive to researchers participating in the IRFP. A listserv allows you to send one email, and have it automatically relayed to all of the members. Members are encouraged to post your latest findings, design tips, vendor or info links, quotes from external forums, or anything else you feel needs to be brought to everyone's attention, in a less transient format than our Realtime channel. While posts to the listserv can include attachments, which may be up to 5MB, the internal mailboxes we currently have assigned to each member are limited to 10MB total, so please link to most files rather than attaching them, unless they have special urgency. For example, you can send messages alerting people to new pics or vids on your Labspace pages. Also, you may want to save and delete read mails from the list from your @h2earth.org mailbox periodically so it doesnt fill up and begin rejecting traffic from the list. All listserv traffic is archived for later reference at http://www.freelists.org/archives/h2earthlabs so you can still find past messages even if you have deleted them from your email box.

Your turn to play

There are many ways you can use your pages here to speed the pace of collaboration and discovery. For one, you can enable anyone viewing your pages to immediately contact you, with any information they may have. One way is by putting a Skype button on your site. You can do that here, with Skype Code. Another is by embedding a Widget from Meebo which lets you chat live with anyone who wants to while visiting your page. Other widgets that can be found online enable you to embed engineering calculators, parts catalogs, your local time and weather, and even your live webcam vidstream in your Labspace.

This site has a limit of 2GB in total, with individual file attachments limited to 10MB per file, BUT, nothing prevents you from having larger files available for download, which are hosted on other sites, which users can obtain by clicking on a single link on your page. This includes our document collection and the Institute's FTP Server.

How to Hyperlink: This does take some getting used to, but it is the linquafranca of the new millenium. In this new Web 2.0 XWiki environment, you have to think multidimensionally. Any word or phrase can link to any information anywhere. Use it to make this work. These new information/communication technologies are the leverage needed to WIN.

Imagine applying a similar paradigm shift to Energy...

The Waterfuel Association

Need Help in Realspace? Why not invite some local Hydro Hobbits to join you in your experiments? The Institute is seeking to organize individual chapters of a new Waterfuel Association ("WA") in local communities around the world. Similar to the recreational clubs that Ham Radio operators and R/C Modellers have enjoyed for years, the WA will enable hydrogen hobbyists to get together to share tips, techniques, tools, and camaraderie. What you dont have, in the way of shop space, tools, materials, skills, or instrumentation, someone near you likely does - and they dont like Dirty Big Oil any more than you do. Register your WA Chapter and then use Meetup and Craigslist to promote your first meeting. A new website for the Waterfuel Association will be launched shortly. Please list all local WA meetings and events on the Master Calender that we maintain with Google.

Hydroxy Energy Association for Renewables in Transport & Homes

Looking to manufacture? Whereas most research institutes like H2earth are founded by preexisting trade associations (like the Electric Power Research Institute, the Gas Technology Institute, or the American Petroleum Institute), where waterfuel technology is concerned, its the other way around. The H2earth Institute hopes to organize the world's first waterfuel industries association, HEARTH, to represent the common interests of all of the new ventures (commercial and charitable) that are about to arise in this field. This organization, which, like the Institute, will be based in Washington, D.C., will provide a voice for emerging manufacturers, distributors, installers, and others, in the face of the inevitable legislative, regulatory, policy, legal, and public relations issues to be faced by the new industry. This association will also be open to existing manufacturers of Hydroxy-boost devices, Cold Fusion appliances, Hydrogen Fuel Reformers, and systems for Exothermic Plasma Synthesis, in the hope that a broader coalition will benefit all concerned. If you are establishing a venture to commercialize waterfuel devices once they reach engineering stability, please Contact the Institute to be placed on a list to receive further information as it becomes available.

Tips

Before proceeding to your vLab Space within H2earthlabs, please take a few minutes to read these basic tips:
  • Although Netcipia is optimized for FireFox, Internet Explorer (IE) 6 and IE 7 are also supported. Opera also seems to be fully functional, even against error messages to the contrary.
  • To change your password, go to your profile (link at the top of the page), and click on edit.
  • To create a page, either:
    • Type the name of the page in the corresponding field in the right column, and fill in the content of the page.
    • While you are typing your text in an existing page, simply create a link to the new page: although the page does not exist yet (a question mark will appear next to the link), simply click on the link and the new page will be loaded in edit mode.
  • Netcipia places contain two text editors: A simplified editor, that uses a Wiki syntax, and a WYSIWYG editor, that enables code-free formatting. Novice users should use the WYSIWYG editor. Advanced users will benefit from the greater speed and performance of the Wiki editor.
  • By default, a Netcipia place is private and only you can access it. However, we have enabled public access to all of the primary H2earthlabs pages (Labspaces, Blogs, Wiki), to facilitate - in the words of James Smithson - "the increase and diffusion of knowledge". We can create private and semi-private space, as needed, if there is any collaborative advantage to doing so in various circumstances.
  • Please use your Labspace for research related information on your waterfuel projects, including as many photos, diagrams, and as much experimental data as possible. We will be adding a common spreadsheet to allow direct comparisons between tests run on different cells around the world. Of particular interest are gas flow measurements (in liters/min.) with qood quantifaction of the straight DC power input to the cell (outside/before the circuit) in watt-hours. Matched with scope tracings and detailed design information, this could lead to the configuration keys we're seeking.
  • On your separate member Profile Page here at Netcipia, you can give more personal or entertaining information, family pics, fun links, music, art, whatever you'd like to share about yourself. There you can amplify on the mini profile you have on the main site
